Background
On July 14th, Vitalik crowd-sourced improvements to his blog, offering 1 ETH [details] for someone to add dark mode. On July 27th, Drew Cook pushed his contribution on the issue to blogmaker:
feat: add dark mode support
The comments on Gitcoin / GitHub are fascinatingly illuminative.
On August 12th, Vitalik committed the change and announced the new feature.
We can see the 1.2 ETH payment on August 12th, for 10 hours of work (~$235/hr at time of payment).
